CrossFit D.C. opened up in 2005, without a location, website, or equipment. Fast forward 19 years and this gym has proved it is here to stay. 2. CrossFit Invictus - Washington, D.C.

CrossFit Invictus is a gym you'll never forget about! With over 9,000 sqft, there's always enough room to accommodate large group classes, a weightlifting club, and space for an open gym, all at the same time. Every piece of equipment, you can think of, they have. Throughout the years, Owners, Michael and Vickie Paesano have built a team of dedicated coaches. These coaches have made it a very welcoming and fun environment. I would say my favorite thing about this gym is how clean it is. Needless to say, I highly advise you to check out CrossFit Invictus in Washington, D.C.

3. CrossFit MPH

Movement. People. Health. That is CrossFit MPH's motto. This gym was first opened in 2009. Three years later (when she took over ownership in 2012), Melody Feldman, started her mission to help thousands of people, from all backgrounds, change their lives. Outside of running CrossFit MPH, she is a big member of CrossFit’s Seminar Staff, teaching their Level 1 and Level 2 coaching seminars (since 2013 she has over 210 in 15 countries). In addition to CrossFit Classes, they offer a barbell club, nutrition coaching, and 1-0n-1 training! Definitely check this gym out!

In addition, the equipment they have is all you need to look good naked. One of my favorite things about this gym is its open gym hours. Ambitious Athletics helps you feel like an athlete no matter how old. This gym all started in 2008 and has taken over since. Fast forward to 2023, Ambitious Athletics was featured in Yelp and Entrepreneur's first-ever list of top mom-and-pop shops in the U.S. for the health and fitness category. There's zero question the owner, Carmen Sturniolo, has done a tremendous job keeping the equipment organized and up to date. One of their nicest amenities is their private recovery room, which includes a cold tub, an infrared sauna, and an onsite physical therapist.
