CrossFit Ammo is unlike any gym you probably have ever walked into. Originating in a garage, in 2012, CrossFit Ammo first opened. It didn't take long until people were flooding out of the garage doors, pushing CrossFit Ammo to move to 1201 E. Main Street in 2013 with a total of 56 members. Fast forward 11 years, and CF Ammo has 150 dedicated members, consisting of moms, dads, grandparents, teachers, real-estate agents, and businessmen. From the start, Owners, Andre and Leah Gibbs have built up a respected reputation and always make this gym feel like a second home. Programs offered here include Open Gym, CrossFit Classes, Hyrox Training, Yoga, Nutrition Coaching, and even 1-0n-1 personal training. If you're ever in the Allen area, and want to drop in, a day pass is $25.

2. CrossFit 972

CrossFit 972 is a gym that never disappoints! It was first opened in 2010 and has been serving the Plano area for over a decade now. This gym offers Group Classes, Nutrition Coaching, and Personal Training. For an unlimited membership, it costs $160/mo but with their family rate it costs $145/mo. Their rate for personal training is $50/hr and for a drop in it's $20. Nevertheless, when you visit CrossFit 972 you should expect a clean gym, with lots of equipment!

3. North Frisco CrossFit

Introducing North Frisco CrossFit: a premier CrossFit Gym, located in Frisco, Texas. This gym has tons of floor space, rigs, and cardio machines. In addition, North Frisco CrossFit has a variety of different programs to never leave you feeling bored of training. There is Strength Training, Open Gym, Group Runs, and even a Frisco Running Club, founded by Coach Hamlin. Group runs are held twice a week; Tuesday's are track days at Cobb Middle School and Saturday's are long runs that meet at Frisco Running Co. Store.

Located on the Plano/Richardson border, in the City Line neighborhood, sits CrossFit Azimuth. One of my favorite aspects about this gym is the abundance of equipment and how well organized this gym is. Another plus about this gym is that they offer Open Gym Monday - Friday from 6 am - 7 am & 10 am - 12 pm, as well on Saturday's from 8 am - 10 am. However, if you prefer group training, they have classes at 5 am, 12 pm, 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm, and 6:30 pm Monday - Friday. Needless to say, if you're an athlete, looking to play at college level or higher, I recommend you trying out CrossFit Azimuth!

5. CrossFit Westwood

CrossFit Westwood, a 4,000 sq ft air-conditioned gym space with a 5,000 sq ft of outdoor athletic turf, first opened its doors on August 1st, 2018. Throughout the years, undoubtedly the Owner, Matt Haynes, has created a fun yet competitive environment. Fast forward to 2024, and they offer members an all inclusive, two-gym layout. The first gym is where they offer 1-hour group fitness classes and the second gym, Westwood Fitness; a hybrid space where people can come workout at any time of the day and enjoy the more traditional “globo-gym” equipment, as well as all of the usual CrossFit equipment. For unlimited classes and 24 hr access it's $175/mo. However, if you want to pay in full, for the year, it's $1,860.
